Tour Itinerary: Discover Socotra Together
DAY 1 – The Majestic Sand Dunes
Arrival in Socotra:
Your adventure begins as you arrive at Socotra airport, where our dedicated tour guide will warmly welcome you with a “Socotra Booking” sign, right behind the passport control counter. Please bear with the warmth and hustle of the terminal as you collect your luggage.
Once you’re ready, we’ll head east to the enchanting Arher area, home to giant sand dunes, a pristine beach, and refreshing freshwater wells. Enjoy snacks, dinner, and breakfast as you immerse yourself in Socotra’s unique beauty.

DAY 2 – Explore the Hoq Cave
Early Start:
Rise early at 5:00 am for a delicious breakfast before heading to Ras Arsel, the easternmost point of Socotra. A quick 15-minute drive brings you to the meeting point of the Arabian Sea and the Indian Ocean.
Next, we drive to Rosh village, where our hike to Hoq Cave begins. This cave, the largest in the Middle East, stretches 2 km deep. Depending on your fitness level, the hike can take 2.5 hours to reach the cave’s entrance, followed by a 30-minute exploration inside. The entire journey offers an unforgettable adventure lasting 6 to 7 hours. For those who prefer a more relaxed day, the nearby beach offers a tranquil alternative.

DAY 4 – The Wonders of the Indian Ocean
Morning at Momi:
After an early breakfast, we journey to the picturesque Wadi of Kelisan beneath the Momi mountains. A short hike offers stunning views and access to natural pools perfect for a refreshing swim.
Afternoon at the Dunes:
After a picnic, we continue our adventure off-roading through valleys to the Zahek dunes, shaped by seasonal winds. Our day concludes at the serene Aomak campsite by the Indian Ocean.
Overnight: Camping at Aomak or Zahek
Activities:
- Swim in the natural pools of Wadi Kelisan.
- Enjoy camel riding (on request) or sandboarding.
- Take a relaxing walk along the beach or explore nearby villages.
DAY 5 – The Enchanting Dragon Blood Forest
Morning Exploration:
Begin your day with a swim in the Indian Ocean before heading to Digub Cave, which offers stunning views over traditional villages. The cave itself is filled with fascinating stalactites, stalagmites, and pools.
Afternoon Adventure:
We then ascend to Dicksam Plateau and Shebahon’s viewpoint, where you’ll find a large forest of Dragon’s Blood trees and other endemic species. The viewpoint offers breathtaking views of Daerhu Canyon, followed by a visit to Dirhur Wadi for lunch and a swim in its freshwater pools.
Overnight: Camping at Firmhen
Activities:
- Swim in the freshwater pools of Dirhur Wadi.
- Learn about the extraction of Dragon’s Blood and Luban (gum).
- Hike through the forest, observe local wildlife, and enjoy birdwatching.
DAY 6 – The World’s Best Beach
Morning at Qalansiyah:
Today, we explore the western part of the island, starting with a visit to Dicksam Nursery to see baby Dragon’s Blood trees and learn about their growth. We then head to Qalansiyah town and its renowned beach, where you can relax in the sun, swim, and explore the vibrant Detwah lagoon.
Overnight: Camping at Detwah Lagoon
Activities:
- Swim in the turquoise waters of Qalansiyah beach and Detwah lagoon.
- Enjoy a leisurely walk along the beach or hike the surrounding hills.
- Explore the historic town of Qalansiyah.
DAY 7 – A Day in Paradise
Morning Boat Ride:
Get ready by 6:00 am for an unforgettable boat ride from Qalansiyah port. We’ll explore the secluded Shuaab beach, one of the most beautiful in the world. Swim in its crystal-clear waters, relax on its white-sand shores, and keep an eye out for Spinner dolphins and the rare Socotra cormorant birds.
Afternoon Exploration:
If time permits, meet the legendary “Caveman Aliyah,” a local icon known for his incredible stories and self-made tourist attraction. We’ll return to Hadibo in the late afternoon.
Overnight: Stay at a local hotel or guesthouse in Hadibo
Activities:
- Swim, fish, and snorkel in the pristine waters of Shuaab.
- Watch dolphins and explore the caves and wildlife.
- Meet the famous Caveman Aliyah and hear his fascinating stories.
DAY 8 – Farewell Socotra
Final Morning:
After breakfast at 8:00 am, take a final tour of Hadibo’s market and gift shops to pick up souvenirs and mementos. We’ll then transport you to Socotra airport for your return flight to Abu Dhabi.
